November Meeting Minutes
Meeting Date: 11/5/2008
Members Present: Justin, Chad and Lisa, Scott, Paulette, and Craig
Quorum: Yes, 5 of 7 members present
Old Business: Ideas for Mission Statement – each person to bring one idea of what to put in the mission statement.
New Business:
· Justin presented the bank account information. Our account is with National City Bank. Chad is the Super User on the account, and Justin and Chad are the authorized check signers.
· Each member present wrote a check to the new account for $100.00
· The By-laws were signed into effect with Chad’s signature as the last one needed.
· Members present signed for opening the Scott Trade account. A signature from each member is required by Scott Trade for Investment Club accounts. 3 members are required to dissolve the account with Scott Trade.
· Scott offered to set up Google Docs for document storage use for the Investment Club
· The idea of having an email account for the club was discussed
· Discussion was raised as to having a requirement for new potential members to attend X number of meetings prior to joining.
· Bivio membership discussion – $150.00/year club membership or $99.00/year for basic membership. Offers tax and accounting software and assistance. Provides online documentation. $80.00/year for the Better Investing portion, with a 3 month free trial membership.
· Other tools similar to Bivio: Icara, ICLUB
· NAIC membership discussion – idea is to try doing SSGs without NAIC site tools and see then if it is a worthwhile investment to have those tools available.
· Each member will do a Stock Selection Guide. Justin, Paulette, and Scott will present one next meeting, and remaining members will present one the following meeting (Jan.)
· Discussion of Mission Statement tabled until December meeting, with suggestions from each member to be offered then.
